Balanced Child Behavior Associates was founded by Dr. Chelsea Pierce, a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and advocate for children with special needs. Prior to becoming a BCBA, Dr. Pierce worked as a Special Education Teacher, General Education Teacher, Behavior Specialist, and Case Manager for more than a decade. Through her professional journey, she has gained unique insights, enabling her to analyze each situation through multiple viewpoints.
Her passion for supporting the unique learning needs of all children led Dr. Pierce to earn a Ph.D. in Special Education. Her research explored the crucial relationships between parents and grandparents serving as caregivers for autistic children. Dr. Pierce has delivered presentations at international, national, and state conferences, and has published several peer-reviewed articles related to special education.
With empathy, patience, and understanding, the seasoned professionals at Balanced Child Behavior Associates will quickly earn your trust and respect. Dr. Pierce and her team are proud to support the children you love at home and at school.
Why Balanced Child Behavior Associates?
“Empowering Educators and Parents“
I am always impressed by Chelsea’s ability to connect with our staff and families. She is a skilled presenter and offers easy-to-use strategies accessible to families and teachers at low or no cost. Chelsea has received outstanding reviews regarding her ability to disseminate information in a concise and authentic manner. Her presentations are filled with relevant information, empowering educators and parents to advocate for the needs of their children. Her unique background working as a teacher and supporting families with diverse needs adds to her credibility.
“Reduced Challenging Behaviors”
Dr. Pierce’s work is structured around comprehensive data collection and analysis, combined with open communication. Dr. Pierce has reduced challenging behaviors significantly, while promoting acquisition of replacement skills. Her vision is always focused on looking towards being an advocate for children.
“A Heart for Working with Children“
Dr. Pierce has a heart for working with children. She has a knack for building rapport with students, and her ability to be kind while still communicating the need to follow behavior expectations is unmatched.
“Helping Build My Confidence“
Chelsea’s supervision is helping build my confidence in the field of ABA because I often overthink or second guess a strategy or concept, so that's been my biggest takeaway. Being able to openly talk through examples and concepts and identify what they are in practice has been the most helpful piece in terms of learning for me. I love that she comes up with creative ideas, uses everyday signs, memes, and GIFs to explain a concept, and brings in new people and guests. The little things go a long way!
“Emphasis on Ethics“
Dr. Pierce is an amazing BCBA Supervisor that I have collaborated with on several projects. I can personally recommend her for her vast knowledge, compassionate approach, and emphasis on ethics.
